The name Wm S Haynes needs no introduction. Arguably the maker of the finest flutes and piccolos ever made.
This piccolo is all solid silver. Key of C. Serial number 9606 places the date of manufacture to c.1927. Features include a cylindrical bore for a high register that just sings. Although this instrument came to us in practically mint condition, we decided to overhaul it to better than new condition. All new double skin treated pads. New gold springs where necessary. All new corks and felts. There's barely a scuff mark anywhere. Everything is perfect. And this baby really plays! It has an effortless response all the way up the scale and amazingly it plays a bit above A=440. No problem to tune up to A=442 if necessary. This beautiful handmade instrument is truly symphony orchestra or symphonic band quality! This is the finest piccolo we've ever had in the store.
