Meaning:
The killer whale is a symbol for romance and harmony as Whales mate for life. The Whale is very family oriented and known to travel in large groups, never to be alone. They symbolize great luck and happiness, community and protection. They are a known to always be working together, take care of each other and to always help and protect each other.
Norman Seaweed
, a member of the Kwagiulth First Nation, was born in
Alert
Bay
, a small town on British Columbias Pacific Northwest Coast of Vancouver Island. His mother’s family is from
the Village
Island
and his father’s family is from
Turnour
Island
. He comes from a large family of well known artists, wood and silver carvers and learned his skills in
jewelry
carving from Lloyd Wadhams, when he started in 1978. His three brothers are also very talented and the Name "Seaweed" is highly sought after when it comes to any kind of jewelry, bracelets, earrings, rings, pendants and necklaces.
